For those who observe Dia de los Muertos, there will be related events host on the San Jose City College campus during the week.

Dia de los Muertos is a holiday of Mexican origins which celebrates the spirits of the deceased. Traditionally alters are built with offerings to these spirits to encourage the visitation of their souls.

On Oct. 30-31, there will be a community alter built in the SJCC Art Gallery. The theater instructor, Anita Reyes will be on site at 11am each day to help students pay tribute to their loved ones.

The cosmetology students will be providing free face painting from 9:30-11am on November 1st to celebrate the holiday. Face painting will take place in front of the SJCC Theater

Since all good celebrations include music, Lincoln High School’s Folklorico and Mariachi group will be performing in the M-Quad from 12:45-2pm on November 1st.
