Speed City end a good run

The San Jose City College Men’s basketball team endED the 2012/13 basketball season on a six game win streak before falling to City College of San Francisco, 92-52, on March 2 in the second round of the Northern California Regional playoffs.

After conquering the 16 seed De Anza 91-84 in the first round of the playoffs, SJCC, the 17 seed, fought an uphill battle in the second round against the top seeded CCSF for the second time this season.

The first time the met this season SJCC lost 104-57, and both times were in CCSF’s new sports facility.

SJCC finished third place in the Coast-South Division conference with nine wins and five losses, which contributed to its overall record of 20 wins and 8 losses.

Point guard Bobby Gray led the team this season with 362 points, 156 assists and 110 rebounds. Power forward Andre Russell also led the team with 182 rebounds, 250 points and with a .507 field goal percentage.
