Lady Jags fall in second round

After a tough season, the San Jose City College women’s basketball team completed its season in the second round of the Northern California Regional playoffs after losing to Santa Rosa Junior College 60-45.

In the first round of the playoffs, SJCC defeated Laney College in overtime 69-66.

SJCC fell to Santa Rosa for the second time this season after losing to them 57-49 in the Merced basketball tournament at the beginning of the season.

The Jaguars finished fifth place in the Coast-South Division conference with five wins and seven losses, which added to its 12 wins and 17 losses for the season.

Guard Aiwekhoe Okungbowa led the team with 583 points, 352 rebounds and 37 assists. Forward Victoria Aguilera also led the team with 253 rebounds, 334 points and 46 blocks.
