We have a new ASG Body President
Alex Ward, 28, biochemistry major, is the new Associated Student Government president for the 2013-2014 school year.
Out of over 9,000 ballots that were sent to students, Ward received 221 votes and Bihama Vedaste received 137 votes.
Ward said he already has a set of priorities that he wants to set in motion while he is president.
“My first priority is the Valley Transportation Authority Eco pass,” Ward said.
He said his second priority is to improve the communication on campus so that it will be easier for students to stay informed.
He also wants to create buzz events and activities that will take place on campus.
“Lastly, I want the ASG to promote fun activities between students, faculty, and administrators so they might interact with each other,” Ward said.
Ward said he would like to thank the students who voted for him, in addition to those who did not vote, because they became involved either way.
“I will keep working for what students want; they just need to bring their ideas to me and tell me what changes need to be made.”
The ASG election was held during the week of Sept. 23.
