At times fast food chains can get a little tire some, still good, but once in a while it is good to try something different. Lunch can be a rush, when it should be a break. This is possible and was accomplished while eating at Com Tam Thanh, off the corner of Fruitdale and Bascom Ave.
Being there during the lunch rush was a perfect test, seating was not an issue due to the large area of tables, and different sections for seating. Within 10 minutes the order was taken and my food was received. The pho was good, the broth wasn’t watery or too strong and the noodles were a perfect amount for being a regular sized bowl. Pho is a soup with rice noodles and various cuts of meat. It is not the only thing they offer, there were rice plates and spring rolls. Plenty to choose from, and from it looked like from other tables, nice big proportions.
There could have been a little more meat, still proportionate for the regular size bowl, next time maybe the large. With everything, pho and soda, it came out to around $8.00, which is a fair price for being down the street and the chance of a break from class. Also a break from the usual lunch day in and day out.
It gets a four out of five on the ‘happy fat kid‘ scale, being that other plates haven’t been tried yet.
