Douglas Treadway has 27 years experience as a CEO in higher education and 15 years teaching experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Counseling from Northwestern University and was a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University. Currently, Dr. Treadway serves as Interim President at San Jose City College. Previous community college CEO positions include Ohlone College in Fremont, California and Shasta College in Redding, California. Other leadership positions held include Chancellor of the North Dakota University System, President of Southwest Minnesota State University and President of Western Montana State College. Dr.Treadway served on the faculties of Oregon State University and Maui Community College.
Dr. Treadway led in the construction of the world’s first Green College Campus, the Ohlone College Newark Campus, which has Platinum LEED certification. He is a frequent speaker and consultant in the area of environmental sustainability and is a member of the Association of Higher Education Sustainability.
Doug Treadway has numerous publications in higher education, leadership and economic development. He has served the community as president of the board of a regional symphony and a medical center and has held board membership on regional banks and economic development organizations. He and his wife Carole have two children and four grand children and reside in Livermore, California.
