The San Jose City College football team suffered another loss against Gavilan College on Saturday, Oct. 22.
“Another tough loss,” said Jared Julian, quarterback for the Jaguars. “A game we felt like we should’ve won, but weren’t able to get it done.”
The final score was 39-23.
“We made some mistakes we couldn’t recover from,” said Raymond Cook, defensive backs coach.
“We did have some big plays,” Cook said.

The Jaguars will host Hartnell College on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.
“This week we play a very fast and physical team,” Cook said. “we’re looking to get up on them early and put them into a play from behind game script.”
This upcoming game against Hartnell will be the last home game for the Jaguars, who have not won at home.
“No extra pressure,” Julian said. “We’re feeling loose and ready to get a home win.”
Despite the six game losing streak the Jaguars hold, this has not produced any added pressure within the team.
“Not necessarily pressure,” Cook said. “We’d love to send our sophomores out the right way.”
He also mentioned how the goal is to get the sophomores a chance to get good offers and opportunities.
“We have an extremely young team and the first year this coaching staff has worked together,” Cook said. “The future is still extremely bright.”
