[media-credit id=21 align=”alignnone” width=”400″][/media-credit]Many student can see the drastic change in class size from the beginning of a semester to the end. It seems as if there is standing room only as the first week rolls around, but as the semester comes to a close, the final 15-hardworking students are left; and the students who were dying to add in the beginning are long gone.
This epidemic is a problem at San Jose City College. There are always students who cannot add a class they need because about fifteen people, who are not fully committed to the class, signed up sooner. With a new semester here, students really need to evaluate his or her schedule and classes. Students need to see if the course that he or she is not completely invested in can open up a spot for a student who really cares enough to go to class. Students who are not invested in their education indirectly affect those who take pride in coming to school and learning. While in the beginning of the semester classes are often full, many times students have to sit on the floor; this is very unfair to the students and faculty teaching the class.
This learning environment should never be seen, especially in a college atmosphere. A lot of times coming to San Jose City College you realize that the school is over crowded with students, many times the library is packed and the parking lot is a nightmare, but that all stops once the first month ends. This occurs because students don’t seem to take their education seriously and this makes up for 15 dedicated students at the end of the semester. So next time you sit in a classroom, make sure your not taking some else’s seat that wants to be there.
