Out of three track and field meets this season—MPC All Comers, Kim Duyst Invitational and Jack Albiani Invitational—San Jose City College has managed to obtain many impressive marks.
Diamara Planell Cruz currently leads in the women’s 100 meter with a time of 12.60 seconds, 200 meter with a time of 26.58 seconds and pole vault with a height of 3.91 meters.
Jayme Gonzalez is also among the team’s top female performers in women’s shot put, throwing 10.00 meters and discus throw with a length of 33.50 meters and in the javelin, throwing 23.46 meters.
CM April, who is among the teams top male performers, leads the team in six events, which includes: 800 meter (2:02.45), 1,500 meter (4:14.19), 3,000 meter (9:08.00), 5,000 meter (16:13.71), 400 meter hurdles (1:02.56) and 3,000 meter steeple run (9:56.46).
On the field, Viet Duong has recorded notable lengths in the shot put, throwing 13.45 meters, discus throw, throwing 38.94 meters, and in the Javelin, throwing 49.06 meters.
The Jaguars participate in the De Anza Invitational track and field meet on March 15 for an all day event.
