SJCC students may schedule virtual counseling appointments using the ConexEd/Cranium Cafe online platform.
“Get your academic counseling done online,” said Daniel Garza, SJCC director of marketing and public relations.
Students can fill out an online counseling request form with their contact information or call the counseling department directly at (408) 288-3750.
Aside from their name, student ID number and email address, students must indicate what times they are available so that a counselor can schedule an appointment within those times.
The student status and educational objective sections require students to indicate if they have attended other colleges if they are completing a certificate, associate’s of art or associate’s of science degree.
They also have to fill out the reason for having the appointment
Once they are done with the form, they have to email it to [email protected].
When the appointment is scheduled, they have to log in to their Cranium Cafe account before starting the meeting.
If a Zoom meeting was scheduled, they have to click a link in their email in order to start their meeting.
The meeting can be done using the browser, Zoom software or it can also be done by downloading the Zoom app.
In order for the counselor to see and hear students, they need to connect their camera, such as a webcam, to their computers.
ConexEd online counselor appointments are one type of appointment that is only necessary for students who need to speak with their counselors when school is closed. They give students an idea of what ConexEd online counseling looks like.
