Wednesday, May 1

  • The film “abUSed: The Postville Raid” will be shown to demonstrate the need for a comprehensive immigration reform in the Student Center SC-204 at 6:30 p.m.
  • May Day March—International Workers’ Day. Is march dedicated to stop deportations, pave a path towards citizenship, and enforce equal labor rights for all. Participants are encouraged to bring banners and signs at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on 2020 East San Antonio St. at 3 p.m. The march will start at 4 p.m. towards San Jose City Hall between Fourth and Sixth streets.

May 1 – May 9

  • An art exhibit will be held in the Fine Arts building honoring Earth’s Day. One of the artist is SJCC student Carolann Espino presenting a series of paintings that reflect on topics like thermal pollution, radiation exposure, urban decay, and animal extinction.

Friday, May 3

  • Bus tour to Stanford University will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by the Career/Transfer Center for information on reserving a seat on the bus in the Student Center SC-216A.

Monday, May 6

  • Asian Pacific Heritage Month begins

Wednesday, May 8

  • The documentary “The Health Care Movie Room” will be shown to provide the real story of how the universal medical health care systems in Canada and the corporate United States systems evolved to be distinct in the Student Center SC-204 at 6:30 p.m.
