Greg Nelson, interim dean of Kinesiology Wellness and Athletics, announced the forfeiture of the men’s basketball team’s game on Nov. 23.
In response to this announcement, members of the public, some leaders in the black community and head coach Percy Carr addressed the Board of Trustees of the San Jose/Evergreen Community College District on Tues., Nov. 27, expressing concerns over racial inequality.
Some attendees held signs saying “Put VP Nelson on leave.”
