“Together We Dance” included dancers from San Jose City, West Valley, Evergreen, Mission and Foothill colleges.

“It was a nice bonding experience for the South Bay, at the community college level, to get together and appreciate everyone else’s work,” McCall said.

The event was an opportunity for dancers and faculty to promote and share their passion for dance with the community.

Seventy-six dancers, including six from SJCC, performed genres as diverse as ballet, hip-hop, tap, Bollywood, modern, jazz and ballroom dances, such as salsa, rumba and cha-cha, in a show that lasted two hours.

“Some of the pieces were faculty choreographed, and some others were students choreographed,” McCall said.

Out of the three pieces SJCC performed, “Tutu Couture” was choreographed by McCall, while the rest of the dances were created by SJCC students.
