Alice 97.3 radio station will host a free concert in San Francisco. The music festival, called Now & Zen, will last from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30 in Golden Gate Park.
Alice’s second music festival of the year features artists Alanis Morissette, Matt Nathanson, Ed Sheeran, Phillip Phillips, Tristan Prettyman and Hedley.
Gates open at 11 a.m. Now & Zen will take place rain or shine, according to Alice’s website.
Seven-time Grammy Award winner Morissette will headline the festival. Morissette’s album “Jagged Little Pill” remains the best-selling debut release by a female artist in the U.S. and the highest-selling debut album worldwide in music history, according to Alice’s website.
This is not the only free concert hosted by Alice 97.3.
For the last 14 years, Alice has hosted two big concerts in Golden Gate Park. Every year, the radio station throws a Summerthing Festival.
This year the Summerthing Festival was on June 24, and it featured artists, such as American Idol 2009 winner Adam Lambert as well as The Voice 2011 finalist Vicky Martinez and bands such as Scars on 45, Graffiti 6 and Boys Like Girls.
San Jose City College student Angela Ensciso, who attended the last Summething Festival, said, “It was a great outdoor concert. My friends and I enjoyed the music, the park, the weather and even some recreational activities and freebies that the radio station prepared.”
In addition to live music, Now & Zen will introduce tons of vendors, booths, freebies and activities in which everyone is invited to participate; Now & Zen is an event for all ages.
According to Alice’s website, Now & Zen will offer a variety of food and drinks to choose from.
