The San José-Evergreen Community College District sent out a safety alert regarding a medical emergency Tuesday, Oct. 1 around 10:15 a.m.
Seher Awan, Business Services supervisor, said a student in the Business Building was walking up a stairwell by the back door when he fell halfway down the stairs and started to bleed.
Awan said the fall was the result of a seizure.
Campus police were the first to respond to the emergency.
Awan said the student, a young male in his 20s or 30s, also happened to be with his caretaker, who waited with him until emergency personnel responded.
An ambulance arrived within five minutes and the safety alert was cleared shortly after.
SJECCD officially cleared the alert around 10:30 a.m.
