{"id":9554,"date":"2014-05-06T18:09:53","date_gmt":"2014-05-07T01:09:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sjcctimes.com\/?p=9554"},"modified":"2014-05-08T18:15:58","modified_gmt":"2014-05-09T01:15:58","slug":"jags-recipe-tiramisu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sjcctimes.com\/es\/9554\/lifestyle\/jags-recipe-tiramisu\/","title":{"rendered":"Jags Recipe: Tiramisu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This rich and creamy dessert makes for the perfect end to a long day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start to finish:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 hour active time<\/p>\n<p>24 hours prep and refrigeration<\/p>\n<p><strong>Servings:<\/strong> 12-15<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>6 egg yolks<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 cup sugar<\/p>\n<p>2\/3 cup milk<\/p>\n<p>1 1\/4 cups heavy whipping cream<\/p>\n<p>1 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/p>\n<p>1 pound mascarpone cheese<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup espresso or strong brewed coffee<\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons rum<\/p>\n<p>2 (3 ounce) packages of soft lady finger cookies<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon of cocoa powder<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. \u00a0In a medium sauce pan, mix together egg yolks and sugar until smooth in consistency. \u00a0Add milk then bring mixture to a boil over medium heat while stirring.<\/p>\n<p>2. Once the mixture comes to a boil, continue cooking for one minute then remove from heat. Tightly cover the pan with foil and refrigerate for one hour.<\/p>\n<p>3. In a medium bowl, whip together the cream and vanilla until it stiffens and holds its shape.<\/p>\n<p>4. In a small bowl, mix together the espresso and rum.<\/p>\n<p>5. Remove the lady fingers from their packaging and split them in half horizontally. Once split, take the espresso and rum mixture and drizzle it over the ladyfingers.<\/p>\n<p>6. Line the bottom of a 7 inch by 11 inch pan with half the ladyfingers then cover them with half the egg mixture. Add a layer of half the whipped cream on top of the egg mixture.<\/p>\n<p>7. Repeat step 6 to make the top layer of the tiramisu.<\/p>\n<p>8. Sprinkle cocoa powder over the top with and cover tightly with foil.<\/p>\n<p>9.
