The San Jos\u00e9-Evergreen Community College District sent out a safety alert regarding a medical emergency Tuesday, Oct. 1 around 10:15 a.m.<\/p>\n
Seher Awan, Business Services supervisor, said a student in the Business Building was walking up a stairwell by the back door when he fell halfway down the stairs and started to bleed.<\/p>\n
Awan said the fall was the result of a seizure.<\/p>\n
Campus police were the first to respond to the emergency.<\/p>\n
Awan said the student, a young male in his 20s or 30s, also happened to be with his caretaker, who waited with him until emergency personnel responded.<\/p>\n
An ambulance arrived within five minutes and the safety alert was cleared shortly after.<\/p>\n
