{"id":13698,"date":"2020-03-23T01:01:34","date_gmt":"2020-03-23T08:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sjcctimes.com\/13698\/news\/jaguar-market-to-provide-a-grab-and-go-food-service-during-coronavirus-quarantine\/"},"modified":"2020-05-11T20:29:32","modified_gmt":"2020-05-12T03:29:32","slug":"jaguar-market-to-provide-a-grab-and-go-food-service-during-coronavirus-quarantine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sjcctimes.com\/es\/13698\/news\/jaguar-market-to-provide-a-grab-and-go-food-service-during-coronavirus-quarantine\/","title":{"rendered":"Jaguar Market gives grab-and-go groceries during coronavirus quarantine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UPDATE:<\/strong> \u00a0<strong>The Jaguar Market To Go has been cancelled because of COVID-19. \u00a0Please contact <a href=\"mailto:blake.balajadia@sjcc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">blake.balajadia@sjcc.edu<\/a>\u00a0for more information.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Second Harvest Silicon Valley will have food distribution each Wednesday beginning March 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the following location:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>St. Martin of Tours Parking lot<br \/>\n200 O&#8217;Connor Drive, San Jose<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>San Jose City College will provide free groceries to students during shelter-in-place order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are offering the Jaguar Market To Go experience as a way to continue to offer some support while shelter-in-place is in effect and the campus is closed,\u201d Director of Student Development and Activities Blake Balajadia wrote in an email.<\/p>\n<p>The service runs from Monday, March 23 to Wednesday, March 25 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day.<br \/>\nStudents must have a current student ID.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a drive-up booth located in front of the Moorpark entrance to the Student Center so students do not need to leave their vehicle. A walk-up line is also available, but students should still maintain social distancing while in line.<\/p>\n<p>Each bag will contain:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Half gallon of milk<\/li>\n<li>One Dozen eggs<\/li>\n<li>Rice or noodles<\/li>\n<li>Tortillas<\/li>\n<li>Oatmeal<\/li>\n<li>Canned tuna, chicken, fruit and vegetables<\/li>\n<li>Snack bars<\/li>\n<li>Bottled water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThere is no vegan or vegetarian option available, but students may donate any unwanted items to their friends and family,\u201d Balajadia wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The program will run weekly until the shelter-in-place order is lifted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will switch back to allowing people to shop at the Jaguar Market once we are able to reopen,\u201d Balajadia wrote.<\/p>\n<p>There is a limit of one bag per person each week while supplies last.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope to reach at least 100 students next week,\u201d Balajadia wrote. \u201cWe will revise our future offerings if necessary based on demand.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATE: \u00a0The Jaguar Market To Go has been cancelled because of COVID-19. \u00a0Please contact blake.balajadia@sjcc.edu\u00a0for more information.
