{"id":13052,"date":"2019-12-19T22:28:06","date_gmt":"2019-12-20T06:28:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sjcctimes.com\/?p=13052"},"modified":"2020-01-03T15:25:28","modified_gmt":"2020-01-03T23:25:28","slug":"hiking-to-one-the-best-views-in-yosemite-valley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sjcctimes.com\/es\/13052\/lifestyle\/hiking-to-one-the-best-views-in-yosemite-valley\/","title":{"rendered":"Hiking to one the best views in Yosemite Valley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most breathtaking sights in Yosemite Valley is the 3,000-foot granite wall, El Capitan.<\/p>\n<p>For some, \u201cI want to touch it\u201d is the immediate reaction to the stunning spectacle but getting to the base of El Capitan is not as easy as just following a marked trail.<\/p>\n<p>There are many ways to get to the wall but this is by far the easiest:<\/p>\n<p>Park in the Northside parking area and then follow the trail that is marked \u201cnose to southwest face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After following that for about .3 miles, you will find yourself about 300 yards from the face of El Capitan.<\/p>\n<p>This is where things get interesting.<\/p>\n<p>Look for a dry creek bed with the same sign that reads, \u201cnose to southwest face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Follow the dry creek as the views of El Capitan begin to get better and better. Soon you will find yourself right up against the wall. This is where an extra 100 yards of hiking makes all the difference.<\/p>\n<p>Once at the wall\u2019s face, follow the left side of the wall for about 150 feet, turn to your right and climb the rocks.
