The Jaguars men\u2019s basketball team lost to rival West Valley 62-57, at a home game on Friday, Feb. 9.<\/p>\n
The game started horribly for the Jags, who were down double digits early in the first half, partially attributable to missed shorts, and losing the battle in rebounds.<\/p>\n
After a timeout by Coach Percy Carr, the tide turned. The Jaguars went on a scoring run to bring the deficit to one point (36-35) by halftime.<\/p>\n
The second half of the game became a real nail biter. Point Guard No. 24 Kameron Vales was starting to come to life. His 17 pts in the game led all Jaguars in scoring. Vales was also perfect from the free-throw line, going 3-3.<\/p>\n
By the time the clock hit two minutes of regulation, the score was 58-53. Small Forward No.44 Jonell Burton was doing everything in his power to keep the Jags alive. His eight rebounds and two blocks lead the team in these respective categories.<\/p>\n
While the Jags put up a valiant effort, eventually they fell 5 points short to the Vikings.<\/p>\n
After the game, Coach Carr said that while he was upset about losing the game to a bitter rival, his spirits were high.<\/p>\n
With one more game left in the season, the Jaguars looked to end on a high note by getting a win against Gavilan on Feb. 14.<\/p>\n
