These\u00a0are places where you spend a\u00a0majority of your time making\u00a0friendships. It is usually easier\u00a0since you share something in\u00a0common.<\/p>\n<p>Making friends in class is\u00a0simple beneficial. The right\u00a0friend can boost your academia.\u00a0When you are in class turn\u00a0to the person next to you,\u00a0introduce yourself and ask\u00a0him or her about something\u00a0going on in class. This dialogue\u00a0breaks the ice and gets both\u00a0acquainted with each other.\u00a0The smart kids in class are the\u00a0best to ask for help with school\u00a0work.<\/p>\n<p>Some classes such as dance,\u00a0journalism, photography,\u00a0broadcasting, physical education\u00a0and many more are heavy on\u00a0teamwork, so interaction with\u00a0other students in these classes\u00a0are a guarantee. It is important\u00a0to find to find a good group of\u00a0friends in class.<\/p>\n<p>There are also different clubs\u00a0and organizations on campus\u00a0that provide the opportunity to\u00a0meet a variety of people who\u00a0share in the same interests.\u00a0Join a club that interests\u00a0you and take an active role\u00a0in it. People are attracted to\u00a0people of power who show an\u00a0ambitious drive.<\/p>\n<p>The best technique anyone\u00a0could use to meet someone is\u00a0to go up and talk. Randomly\u00a0approaching someone may\u00a0seem awkward and creepy, but\u00a0it\u2019s how you break the ice that\u00a0matters. Best ways to break the\u00a0ice is by using a cheesy joke.\u00a0\u201cExcuse me do you know how\u00a0much a polar bear weighs,\u00a0enough to break the ice\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t really go up to\u00a0people,\u201d said Rebecca Lopez\u00a018,math major I kind of look\u00a0and when they look at me I look\u00a0away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When meeting someone\u00a0we often speak without\u00a0really knowing what to say.\u00a0Sometimes talking to strangers\u00a0often ends in that strange\u00a0bewildered look or an awkward\u00a0silence we all know too well.\u00a0Don\u2019t run away, stand your\u00a0ground and try to be clear what\u00a0you meant.<\/p>\n<p>Dance professor Holly\u00a0Brosius recalls her time as a\u00a0community college student\u00a0when she was in school she\u00a0thought a fellow student was\u00a0deaf. When they finally were\u00a0put together in a project she\u00a0awkwardly found out she\u00a0was not, and through that\u00a0interaction they became\u00a0friends. \u201cTo this day we are\u00a0still friends.
